 A spicy chicken recipe cooked in tomato and soy sauce.


 For marination


1 kg Chicken small pieces (skinless)

1 tsp Black Pepper powder

1 tsp White Pepper powder

Salt to taste

1 tsp Ajeenamoto (Chinese salt)

1 tsp Ginger (paste)

1 tsp Garlic (paste)

For the rest of the recipe

2 large Onions (chopped)

3 inch Ginger (sliced)

1 tsp Garlic cloves (chopped)

1 tsp Red Chilli powder

1 tbsp Soy sauce

3 tsp Tomato ketchup

3 tsp Tomato puree

2 tsp Red Chilli sauce

3 tbsp Barbecue sauce

Salt to taste

Oil for frying and cooking

8 green Chillies (slit lengthwise)

Coriander leaves small bunch (chopped)




Step 1


Marinate the chicken in the first seven ingredients for 30 minutes.

Fry the marinated chicken in oil. 

Take the chicken out and keep it aside.


Step 2


Heat the same oil in a pan.

Fry onions, ginger and garlic till they turn into light golden brown colour.

Take a bowl and add red chilli powder, soy sauce, tomato ketchup, tomato puree, red chilli sauce, barbecue sauce and salt and mix them well.

Add this mixture in the onion and fry for 2 minutes.

Now add the fried chicken in the gravy and cover.

Keep it for 10 minutes on a low flame.


Step 3


Place the chicken in a bowl and garnish with green chillies and coriander leaves.

Serve with fried rice.
